This custom-built testing system was designed to evaluate the thermal performance of helmets under controlled conditions. It features a heated headform instrumented with 45 thermocouples to simulate human head temperature, combined with speed airflow system replicating real working conditions. This system enables precise measurement of temperature differentials across helmet surfaces and generates thermal maps to assess ventilation efficiency. This tool and results have supports R&D development by providing quantitative data for optimizing helmet design, comfort, and airflow management.
