I led the redesign and manufacturing implementation of a critical modification to a free-fall impact testing machine used for helmet certification under the updated ECE 22.06 standard. The modification included a complete redesign of the drop carriage (drop headform holder) to meet the geometry, alignment, and energy transfer requirements specified by the regulation. The updated system ensures precise and repeatable impact conditions for homologation of motorcycle helmets according to the latest European safety standards. This project strengthened my expertise in mechanical design for test systems, regulatory compliance engineering, and hands-on coordination with manufacturing teams.
