I led the design, fabrication, and implementation of a guided impact test machine used to evaluate helmet performance in compliance with multiple safety standards, including ANSI Z89.1 Type II (industrial safety helmets), DOT (motorcycle helmets), and CSA (Canadian Standards for industrial head protection). The system was engineered to deliver controlled and repeatable impact conditions—featuring a vertical drop mechanism with guided mass and interchangeable anvils to replicate real-world impact scenarios. This project involved mechanical design, structural analysis, sensor integration for force and acceleration data acquisition, and validation through standardized testing procedures. It provided me with hands-on experience in test machine development, regulatory compliance, and helmet safety performance evaluation.
